The Saskatchewan Library Association (SLA) is a member driven organization that is committed to promoting and developing Saskatchewan’s library community in the cultural, economic, social and political life of Saskatchewan. SLA is a non-profit, cultural organization that provides service and support to libraries and library workers across Saskatchewan.

Nature & Scope of Work

SLA is seeking an executive director who is responsible for the effective operation, administration, and planning of the association. The executive director leads in proposing policy direction, strategic and operational planning, and staff management.

The executive director works in collaboration with the board of directors with respect to association programs and policies, and in facilitating the implementation of SLA programs and projects. The executive director reports, through the president, to the board of directors.

The executive director serves as the primary liaison for the association with external partners. The individual makes independent operating decisions and develops procedures within policy guidelines set by the association’s board of directors. SLA’s office is located in Regina.

Responsibilities

Within the limits of SLA‘s Articles and Bylaws, the executive director is responsible for and has the authority to accomplish the activities and goals as outlined in the full job description on our website.

Education:

Possess an undergraduate or graduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation:

This is a permanent position. Probation is for 6 months from the start date. The wage is $32/hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package.This is a .80 position, at 4 days a week (28 hours/week).
