EVENT: Accessible Sound Walk
DATE: Monday, June 6
TIME: 7-9 PM
LOCATION: Art Gallery of Regina, 2420 Elphinstone Street, Regina
COST: Free
This walk is led by audio artist Ernie Dulanowsky. Dulanowsky will guide participants through an urban landscape of sounds beyond human hearing generated by electronics, wildlife and insects. Using an array of homemade listening devices, Dulanowsky will make the back alleys and laneways of the Cathedral Village Neighbourhood and Les Sherman Park around the Art Gallery of Regina come alive with the secret world of sounds.
This is an accessible event, suitable for those with mobility issues and vision challenges.
This walk is part of Linda Duvall and Jillian McDonald’s community-engaged art project for the Art Gallery of Regina, Messages from the Rocks – Stories of the Invisible. The artists invite people to imagine and share stories of the unseen forces that animate the land.
Nature walks direct attention to animals that we may not normally observe, spirits that live on the land and the un-observable slowness of geological change. Their project acknowledges non-Western systems of knowledge and the transformative power of imagination.

Participants, the artists, and the walk leader will meet 15 minutes before the start time at the Art Gallery of Regina (inside the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre, 2420 Elphinstone Street). Walks will proceed throughout the surrounding parklands.
[ID: The image of three people outdoors wearing headphones. The person closest to the front in profile is audio artist Ernie Dulanowsky. Dulanowsky wears glasses, a flat hat, and white ear phones with a chord. Dulanowsky is holding a white heptagon-shaped audio device in front of him, while looking at it. Behind Dulanowsky are two sound participants. They each have headphones on and are observing Dulanowsky with the audio device. The participant in the background's face is completely framed by the audio device. Over top of the image the words ACCESSIBLE SOUND WALK are placed in bright orange. End]
