Todd Gronsdahl: The Saskatchewan Maritime Museum
Saskatoon-based artist Todd Gronsdahl's expansive installation,The Saskatchewan Maritime Museum, will turn the gallery into a faux museum. Exhibits cobbled together from duct tape and recycled materials expose the untrustworthy nature of histories as political tools. Gronsdahl's extensive collection of faux relics and quirkily hand-crafted sculptures introduces characters such as Charles Gaspar, described as a bon vivant, polymath and "aquatist," and details unbelievable events, like Frankwin Persephony Marquis' mission to navigate Saskatchewan in a seafaring whaling vessel.
