The WDM is looking for a Chief Engineer to oversee the safe operation of antique steam engines, gas tractors and other operating artifacts during the WDM’s outdoor programming season (mid-May to mid-September).

Key responsibilities include:
• Ensuring the safe operation of antique steam traction engines, the Vulcan steam locomotive and K+S Potash Canada Short Line 101, gas tractors, and other operating artifacts at all WDM locations.
• Assessing hazards and identifing maintenance requirements for engines, tractors, and other operating artifacts being used during the outdoor programming season.
• Ensuring steam engines are tested and certified before being included in the outdoor programming season.
• Working with WDM staff and volunteers to ensure appropriate care and maintenance standards are maintained during the programming season.
• Ensuring operating artifacts are properly prepared for storage at the end of the season.

This position requires a 5th class power engineer certificate, a Saskatchewan Limited Power Engineer’s (Traction) license and a Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s license.

This is a seasonal position from mid-May to mid-September. Travel to all WDM locations and working weekends is required. The salary range for this position is between $25 and $30 per hour.
