Job Posting: Fundraising & Development Coordinator

Overview
The Ukrainian Canadian Congress of Saskatchewan (UCC-SPC) is seeking a dynamic, creative and highly motivated individual with a broad set of skills to coordinate the organizations’ charitable foundation efforts as well as lead sponsorship and development efforts.

The Fundraising & Development Coordinator will be responsible for advancing and launching the newly created Hromada Legacy Foundation of Saskatchewan. The Foundation will ensure that opportunities will continue to exist for individuals and groups to enjoy the ongoing evolution of Saskatchewan’s Ukrainian cultural identity while at the same time paying respect to our province’s Ukrainian heritage.

The successful candidate will work as part of the UCC Saskatchewan team and closely with the Hromada Legacy Foundation Board to develop and advance roles and responsibilities between the two organizations, develop fundraising programs including but not limited to planned giving, special events, ticket sales. The individual will strengthen existing UCC Saskatchewan sponsorship and advertising opportunities. The position will foster strong relationships with current and potential individual and corporate donors within an expanding network.

About the Position
Position: Part-time initially
Hours: 21-35 hours/week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend work
Compensation: UCC Saskatchewan offers a competitive compensation package including healthcare benefits and pension plan.

Key Responsibilities:
 Coordinate UCC Saskatchewan’s development of a charitable foundation, together with it’s Board of Directors and the UCC Saskatchewan Executive Director, including preparing and submitting its application to CRA for charitable status;
 Develop and implement policies and procedures that will guide the operations of the Hromada Legacy Foundation;

 Develop and implement an annual fundraising strategy for the Foundation and a sponsorship strategy for UCC Saskatchewan
 Lead planning of fundraising events, ensuring best practices approaches and compliance with relevant CRA regulations;
 Provides recommendations on fundraising;
 Develop and implement a donor recognition program, including individuals and corporations;
 Develop philanthropic relationships and build affinity for supporting UCC Saskatchewan through the Foundation
 Logistical (creative, copywriting) and strategic (budgeting, planning, goal-setting) management of the Foundation’s direct mail activities;
 Develop and implement an online donation program;
 Work with other provincial and national Ukrainian based Foundations to foster an a collaborative environment that promotes choices amongst donors rather than competition
 Additional fundraising and development support, where needed.

Skills, Training & Qualifications:
 University Degree or College Diploma or a combination of equivalent skills and experience. Ideally. CFRE designation and a demonstrated track record in raising funds through exemplary relationship building. Completion of a program specializing in fundraising and/or marketing is desirable.
 Minimum of three (2) years related experience in fundraising and/or sales.
 Proven experience implementing successful fundraising programs.
 Experience with donor and event management.
 A personal connection to the Saskatchewan Ukrainian community.
 Effective donor management and stewardship practices.
 Knowledge of major gifts process.
 Strong planning and organization skills with the ability to translate plans into action. Ability to effectively prioritize activities effectively.
 Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make strong and compelling presentations.
 Excellent interpersonal skills. Is open, approachable, tactful and politically sensitive. Possesses the ability to work with a wide variety of personalities and situations.
 Skilled relationship builder.
 Takes initiative and able to work independently.
 Strong sales and marketing skills.
 Excellent administrative skills with the ability to follow through effectively.
 Thrives under pressure and multiple deadlines.
 Ability to provide effective leadership and motivation to volunteers.
 Strong computer skills, including the MS 365 suite of products and database management.
 Willing to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends, and travel, as required.
 Fluency in oral and written English. Ukrainian is an asset.
