Part Time Assistant Blenders Events Inc and Windscape Kite Club Inc
Salary $23,000/year

The main tasks and responsibilities of this position include grant writing, helping with set up, running, and cleanup of events, helping with marketing and promotional campaigns, and all other duties assigned. The Assistant will report to the Cultural Festivals director.
This position will allow the Assistant to contribute to cultural development of the city. The Assistant will actively contribute to the marketing plans and promotional campaigns including press releases, media interviews, community and school tours, as well as involvement in community events. The position also requires direct, hands-on involvement with infrastructure preparations, volunteer recruitment, and all other details related to organizing and hosting events and festivals. This job will develop exceptional decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Office space will only be provided end of April-mid August every year.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Project an enthusiastic, positive, customer-service-oriented public image
• Create, critique, analyze, and make suggestions about ongoing marketing and promotional campaigns
• Research new marketing opportunities
• Assist in grant applications
• Recruitment and management of Blenders volunteers
• Be directly involved in planning, setup, and implementation of the events and festivals
• Be directly involved in aspects of advertising and marketing events and festivals
• All other duties assigned

Qualifications
• Knowledge of our events and mandates an asset
• Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading skills, and speaking
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with high professionalism
• Ability to accomplish projects with minimal supervision
• Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality
• Some experience working with large events and festivals
• Knowledge of social media and networking tools and methods
• Knowledge of excel and Google drive
• Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle required
• Access to a computer required
