Do you have experience with Translation and Interpretation? Professional Development Training? Program Development? Online learning? If so, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress of Saskatchewan may have the job for you. We are seeking a professional, creative, and out-going individual to help develop and deliver a new provincial, standardized translation and interpretation professional development curriculum and training program called Communicator. Communicator utilizes a train-the-trainer model to build client capacity by upskilling and developing qualified community interpreters and translators. The Communicator Training Officer will work with the Logistics Coordinator to implement this exciting program.
Responsibilities include:
• Identifying and building partnerships with relevant provincial settlement service providers and other providers of translation and interpretation services.
• Identifying community resources/clients to engage in the training program.
• Undertaking a series of provincial information sessions to raise awareness of the program, identify client needs, and recruit trainers/trainees;
• Developing and delivering a series of Translation and Interpretation skills development training modules using the Train the Trainer model;
• Developing and delivering the training program for both in-person and online delivery;
• Ensuring the program maintains and promotes Best Practices Standards for written translation and oral interpretation;
• Preparing necessary progress reports that include both statistical and narrative information on:
 Achievements against objectives and key deliverables under contribution agreement;


 Emerging issues and concerns regarding service delivery and proposed solutions, and,
 Recommendations on training program improvement/development.
• On-going monitoring of program expenses in relation to the annual program budget and in collaboration with the Executive Director.
• Develop relevant print and online promotional materials
SKILLS, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Post secondary education required - Humanities, Social Sciences, Education, Linguistics and/or Administrative disciplines preferred;
• English as an Additional Language and/or language teaching experience and/or training;
• Adult Education teaching experience and/or training is an asset;
• Good understanding of volunteerism in the non-profit and settlement sectors;
• Experienced with MS Office products, a self-starter in learning new software;
• Strong researching and analytical skills;
• Effective budgeting and budget management skills;
• Ability to create clear, concise and accurate reports related to key responsibilities;
• Strong interpersonal skills; confident team worker
• Well organized with effective administrative, research and time management skills
• Tactful, diplomatic, motivated, confident, attentive to detail
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Fluency in English in required while capacity in Ukrainian and/or additional languages will be considered an asset;
• Ability to work weekends and evenings when necessary
• Driver’s licence, car, able to travel.

Eligibility
Eligible applicants must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or otherwise legally entitled to work in Canada according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
