On Cue Performance Hub is seeking an experienced production manager for RISER Regina 2023.

RISER Regina will feature four new dramatic works by emerging and underserved artists running in repertory from May 8 to June 2 in the ShuBox at the University of Regina. It is the result of a partnership between Regina’s On Cue Performance Hub and Toronto’s Why Not Theatre through its RISER National initiative. As Regina’s newest performing arts organization, On Cue Performance Hub is an incubator and a cooperative producing platform offering a season of work from across the performing arts with a focus on presenting new work by emerging and underserved artists and cultivating new and underserved audiences.

Term: February 28, 2023 to June 15, 2023

Location: May work remotely until April 1, 2023 but must work locally in Regina from April 1 to June 15, 2023

Compensation: $10,000

The ideal applicant will have:

- training and substantial experience in technical theatre and production management that ideally includes the production and management of repertory theatre

- experience in working effectively with independent artists.

Duties of the position include:

- Organizing and leading production meetings in the pre-production and production periods; reporting at On Cue staff meetings on RISER progress, production elements, timelines, etc

- Liaising with key On Cue and RISER personnel, including set and lighting designers, producers, directors, and stage managers for each of the four RISER productions to coordinate and assist in meeting each production’s technical needs; liaising with Senior Partners to secure technical equipment, space and other RISER company production needs;

- Creating and coordinating pre-production and production schedules and managing all aspects of the production process including the scheduling of head technician and technical crew (in collaboration with the venue Operations Manager), individual production rehearsal schedules, and related space requirements;

- Working with On Cue’s administration to ensure that all expenses for rentals, materials, and labour fall within overall budget in a cost-effective manner; working to acquire as much in-kind technical gear/support as possible and facilitate the sharing of sound, lighting, video and other technical equipment across the four RISER productions;

- Attending rehearsal(s) and liaising with stage/production management and design teams to ensure that the shows do not violate fire/building codes, safety regulations, or pose unadvisable risk for show personnel.

- Contributing to a post-production RISER debriefing and evaluation as well as a reconciliation of production expenses.

Preference will be given to applicants based in or from Saskatchewan. We encourage people from underserved groups (eg. individuals who are Indigenous, black, people of colour, newcomers, disabled, LGBTQ2S+) to apply.

Applications should be submitted electronically here no later than 11:59pm on February 15, 2023. Applicants should attach a CV (detailing training and production management experience as well as contact information for two references), a bio and a headshot.
