Job Description
The Globe Theatre’s mission is to entertain, educate and engage in the art of professional theatre through producing high quality performances, providing theatre education and serving as a valuable part of the Regina community. The Patron Services Manager will work with the Front of House team to inspire and oversee the creation of outstanding patron interactions and customer service experiences with the goal of strengthening and enhancing Globe Theatre’s customer service promise, deepen and enrich the live theatre experience for current patrons, donors, volunteers and community. Help to develop new audiences, listen and respond to community members, seek out opportunities to surprise and delight our patrons.
The Patron Services Manager is a responsible for planning, overseeing and coordinating all aspects of ticket sales, Box Office, Bartenders, Ushers and Volunteers for the theatre’s productions, including staffing, scheduling, and budgeting in conjunction with Director of Sales & Patron Services. In addition, they also participate in the ongoing development of marketing strategies with specific input on ticket/bar/concession pricing, and customer service. This is a full-time position with hours that include evenings and weekends.
Successful candidates will need strong leadership and organizational skills. They have to be an effective communicator with proficient oral and written skills, a team player who thrives in a creative, collaborative environment. As well as being high-energy and self-motivated with a drive to achieve results, a willingness to learn and a passion for the arts. Possessing knowledge of ticketing, point of sale systems, payment terminals and reconciliation would be an asset.
Qualifications
-Excellent time management capabilities
-Strong leadership, customer service and problem-solving skills
-The ability to think clearly and remain calm while under pressure and in emergency situations
-Bartending/service experience is an asset, but not a requirement (will need valid SIRS certification)
-The ability to handle and reconcile a cash float
-Experience with Microsoft systems, Outlook, Excel etc.
Duties
-Hire, train, and monitor performance of Front of House Staff/Volunteers
-Manage the preparation and balancing of all deposits including bar sales, Box Office sales, donations, accounts receivable payments, etc. and ensure sales are reconciled daily
-Manage ordering & inventory of Box Office materials, Bar/Concession supplies, alcohol, food & beverage items
-Scheduling & monitoring of Front of House for all performances
-Prepare strategies, materials, training and monitor progress for Box Office involved in renewal and acquisition campaigns as well as day to day
-Allocate seats and scale house as required
-Basic training in first aid and CPR
Compensation
This role will be a full-time permanent position, averaging 35 hours per week with any overtime banked. It will require weekend and evening work, as well as some weeks in excess of 35 hours per week throughout the season.
Wage: $40-45,000 per year
After an initial 3-month probationary period employees will be eligible to join Globe Theatre’s comprehensive healthcare benefits program, and after 6-months join the group RRSP plan with employer matching. Globe Theatre also offers a hybrid work-from-home policy, dog-friendly office, monthly cell phone stipend, and complimentary tickets to all productions.
