The RCMP Heritage Centre is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated bilingual University student to fill a full-time in August and/or part-time in the fall position as a Development and Marketing Assistant. This position will carry through to approximately February 1, 2019 depending on start date. They will provide administrative support in three key areas at the Centre: Fundraising, Marketing and Communications.

Fund Development Support
1.) Fundraising Database Entry and Reporting
2.) Donor and Partner Correspondence and Charitable Tax Receipting
3.) Direct Mail Development
4.) Donor Recognition Event

Marketing & Communications Support
1.) Website and Social Media Management
2.) Content Creation
3.) Create Internal Image Bank

Applicants must have an appreciation for history, heritage, tourism and the modern work and role of the RCMP in Canada.

The ideal candidate would:
 Demonstrate strong administrative, analytical and organizational skills to prioritize and manage concurrent assignments
 Be a quick learner and enjoy a variety of learning skills in a tourism and non-profit friendly environment
 Have excellent computer skills including Microsoft office; as well, database entry experience would be desirable.
 Knowledgeable in updating and posting Website, Social Media and content development
 A high degree of initiative and self-motivation;
 Great interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail.
 Be highly professional with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
 Bilingual and multilingual persons in particular are strongly encouraged to apply.

This position reports to the Director, Fund Development and the Director, Marketing & Communications. Salary will align with grant funding agreement through the Lorne & Evelyn Johnson Foundation.
The RCMP Heritage Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization that depends solely on donations and grants from the community with a mandate to tell the RCMP story and their impact on shaping our Canadian history. We tell this story using state of the art feature and main gallery exhibits, multimedia and virtual reality technologies, through engaging public educational programming and public tours.
