Kids Need to Move!

Interested in being part of fun team that works to get kids moving more? This opportunity may be for you! Active Saskatchewan is looking for someone to support our leading-edge initiative to support and work collaboratively with provincial and local leaders to get more kids, more active, more often! As a community development coordinator, you will primarily work to engage provincial and regional action teams. You’ll need great interpersonal skills, big ideas and boundless energy! The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, independent, creative multitasker who meets deadlines.

Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in community development, health promotion, physical activity studies, kinesiology, recreation, social marketing or related field of study; or strong combination of equivalent training and experience.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities
• Strong written and oral communication
• Knowledge of community development and engagement
• Experienced with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
• Creative and strategic thinking
• Flexibility to take on new challenges
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proven ability to work under pressure, manage workload, be flexible, prioritize and meet commitments

• Min. of 5 -7 years of experience in related field
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the province - company vehicle available
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends
• Work in an office environment

Salary: Based upon qualifications and experience

Term: One-year term with strong possibility of extension - 37.5 hours/week

Benefits: 3 weeks’ vacation, paid sick days, travel and expense reimbursement
