Established in 1957, SMEA promotes excellence in music and music education in the Province of Saskatchewan. We currently have an opening for a three-quarter time Administrative Assistant who is experienced and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, communication, and multi-tasking skills. This is a long-term position with the intent for providing support to the organization’s Executive Director as well as taking a leading role in the Communications role of the organization. The position supports the work of an active provincial non-profit arts organization, which offers numerous programs and services throughout the province. Experience with music education and programming in Saskatchewan would be a definite asset.

Responsibilities: The Administrative Assistant, under the direction of the Executive Director, performs a wide range of duties including, but not limited to, the following:
Reception
• Answer and direct general phone and email inquiries
Office administration
• Use computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to prepare reports and documents
• Sort incoming mail and courier deliveries for distribution
• Prepare and send outgoing mail and courier parcels
• Forward and/or reply to incoming general emails and voicemail
• Coordinate the maintenance of office equipment
• Purchase, receive, and store the office supplies
• Update and ensure the accuracy of the organization's databases
• Collect, store, and maintain all the organization’s archive files
• Provide administrative support to Executive Director
Communications
• Pursue new leads for potential sponsors
• Prepare, collect, and analyze reports
• Maintain memberships by collecting and responding to all SMEA member queries
• Distribute weekly eNotz newsletter to membership
• Assist with the updates and maintenance of the SMEA website/Facebook/Twitter account
• Assist in creating informational brochures, Annual Report, newsletters, and programs
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Post-secondary education or equivalent education/experience
• Exceptional computer skills, including the MS Office and QuickBooks
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently with little supervision and take direction when required
• 2-3 years of experience

REMUNERATION: 3/4-time position – Salary range $30,000/year - $34,000/year plus benefits
