Job Description:
Committed to the artistic, cultural, and social vitality of Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Association of Theatre Professionals (SATP) represents and enhances the art and professional business practices of professional theatre artists in Saskatchewan. As the Executive Director of the SATP the successful candidate would be the driving force and voice of our theatre community, both provincially and nationally. You must represent and advocate for theatre professionals to government bodies, funders, and the general public, basing your message on sound knowledge and thorough consultation among our members and partners. The ideal candidate is passionate about theatre and live performing arts. Not only are you an avid patron/supporter but also have an innate and intimate sense of the challenges and processes of the industry and how to advocate for them.

As Executive Director you will be committed to making SATP a home and a hub for live performing artists in Saskatchewan. You will work with a dedicated, membership-appointed Board to: build a strong network – facilitating effective communication among our members, and between our members and their theatre communities and stakeholders; champion the profiles of and successfully guide the growth and collaboration of SATP membership organizations and artists; engage Saskatchewan’s dynamic communities; and make a vital contribution to our vibrant arts and culture ecosystem.

Things we are looking for:
- a consultative, engaging leader that inspires commitment from all stakeholders
- a tireless enthusiasm for championing and building the profile of arts organizations
- experience within the CAEA and PACT environment, with an understanding of the complex challenges of serving the needs and aspirations of professional artists and performing arts organizations, theatre staff, community groups, and local businesses.
- marketing and social media expertise, partnership-building, business acumen.
- secure operational funding and actively seek out additional funding/revenue sources
- a vision for a strong, united organization with exciting growth.

As the majority of your time will be spent working independently you must be proactive in your approach to the position and its role with the community. You will also work with the Board of Directors, the membership, and key stake holders to ensure the goals of SATP’s Strategic Plan are implemented to the fullest extent. Utilizing your financial expertise, you will provide leadership in the planning and implementing of programs that align with the strategies and goals of SATP.
