The Saskatchewan Choral Federation Inc. (SCF) is seeking dedicated individuals to serve on the Board of Directors in a volunteer capacity. We are seeking individuals who are committed to assisting SCF in its mission to promote the art of choral music, encourage high standards of artistic attainment, maximize the number of singers and choirs, grow and develop appreciative audiences and communicate the benefits of singing as a healthy lifestyle activity in our multicultural community.

SCF invites nominations from individuals who are not necessarily actively involved in choral music as either a chorister or director, but who are passionate about the value of healthy lifestyle activities like singing and collaborative music-making and may bring other necessary skills and experience to the Board.

The Board acts as a strong supporter of musical initiatives in the community. SCF’s programming includes a province-wide non-competitive choral festival, a choir for accomplished young singers from throughout Saskatchewan and free summer music camps for disadvantaged youth. SCF offers a variety of professional development initiatives and operates a large music library.

The Board meets four times a year – September (AGM), January (planning), March (conference call) and June. The Annual General Meeting is held in conjunction with the September meeting and provides an opportunity to engage the membership in conversation about opportunities and issues facing the choral community in Saskatchewan. Meetings are held in Regina or Saskatoon with the Annual Meeting taking place in a location outside of those two cities. Out-of-pocket expenses to attend meetings are reimbursed at pre-defined rates.
