Equality Day
April 17
Equality Day marks the coming into force of the equality provisions of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms on April 17, 1985. Sections 15 and 28 expanded constitutionally protected rights and were helped brought about by the lobbying actions of Canadian women.
