Important and Commemorative Days
International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia
May 17
Created in 2004, May 17 marks the day that the World Health Organization (WHO) declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder in 1990. The day is now used to bring awareness and attention to the violence and discrimination faced by members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and all peoples of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and sex characteristics.
