Biggar Museum & Gallery

Biggar Museum & Gallery is a local history museum that presents the history of Biggar and area from the days of settlement to present. Feature displays include: Sixty Mile Outpost, also know as Half Way House, (the first non-aboriginal settlement in the area); agriculture; railroads; a Chinese laundry, Mr. Martin's classroom; Luxton's Millinery, the Majestic Theatre; Sandra Schmirler personal memorabilia; and the history of the KKK. Gift shop, art gallery, archival research and tourist information are provided. The Biggar Museum & Gallery has full wheelchair access and is open from May long weekend to September long weekend, Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed for the lunch hour), and the remainder of the year, Monday to Friday from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Admission is by donation. It is also a member of the Museums Association of Saskatchewan and the Canadian Museums Association.
