Honouring National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Sept. 17, 2025

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (NDTR) is on September 30. SaskCulture recognizes the NDTR and the Orange Shirt Day as important times to reflect and learn more about the true impacts of Residential schools on First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit peoples living on this land, to better understand the change needed, and to commit to meaningful action.

Public commemoration of the painful history and ongoing impacts of Residential schools is a vital component of the Truth and Reconciliation process. Visit the Indigenous Awareness Hub on SaskCulture's website for a list of events happening across the province as well as learning resources to help build understanding.

SaskCulture offices will be closed on September 30 to give staff the opportunity to attend events, honour, learn and grow.
