Fred Light Museum Family Fun Day!
For two of the past three years (no event in 2020 due to the pandemic) the Museum has hosted a popular “Old Fashioned Family Fun Day” each summer as part of ongoing festival efforts. The event, staffed by the Museum’s manager, board members, summer students, and other volunteers has provided a wide range of activities to appeal to a broad segment of the population. Based upon the popularity of the event and positive feedback from attendees, the event is already scheduled for August 2022 and will feature all the activities from this year’s Fun Day, and we are always open to suggestions for new activities to add to the fun.
The 2022 Family Fun Day, like the 2021 event, is planned to feature:
• A wide variety of children’s activities including train rides, bouncy castles, face painting, balloon animals, a crafts tables a quiet area for children to relax, a scavenger hunt, fishing well, jellybean jar count, and a plinko game.
• Activities for the whole family including horse-drawn wagon rides, a variety of musical entertainment, indigenous dancers, a silent auction, blacksmithing and lathe-turning demonstrations, an adult dunk tank featuring local dignitaries, a display of vintage automobiles, and self-guided tours of the Museum.
• A senior’s corner in the fire brigade building will once again provide a place to relax out of the sun with tea and dainties.
