SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival
The SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival is back on June 24th & 25th, 2023!
The SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival returns for its 17th edition on June 24th and 25th, 2023 in beautiful Swift Current, Saskatchewan! Witness over 40 national and international star kite performers and makers filling the skies with a beautiful array of colourful kites. Admission is free and there is a range of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy, so there’s no reason to miss out!
Joining the festival this year are celebrity performers from the west coast The Kite Collective and Team Flying Dragion to wow us all with their 6-person monster team of multi-line sport kite stunts and tricks. Windscape regulars Ron and Emily Bohart of Oregon will also be in attendance with Ron’s award-winning, hand-painted flying works of art. Don’t miss the Celtic knot creations from local master kite builder David Tuttle or get a stunt kite lesson from Swift Current’s own Ray Gowan.
Along with fantastic kite creations and air displays, there will be a variety of children's activities for friends and families to take part in. New this year is Windscape Plinko! Run through the bale maze, add your touch to the splatter mural, and dig for treasure in the mystery sand pile. Try out delicious food vendors such as 3 K’s Kitchen, Pop’s Shwarma, and Smoke’s Poutinerie!
This festival would not be possible without the 300+ volunteers, staff members, funders, and sponsors who have contributed immensely to ensuring the event’s success. This support has allowed the SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival to continue to grow into one of North America’s best and biggest kite festivals.
The SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival runs in conjunction with the Long Day’s Night Music Festival, which features four nights of incredible Canadian music.
Don’t miss the SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival, on June 24th & 25th, 2023 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Check out windscapekitefestival.ca for more details.
