CUMFI's Métis Cultural Days
This FREE event is held at the Saskatoon Western Development Museum, as we celebrate our heritage and share it with ALL OF OUR COMMUNITIES!
Interactive Métis Village, Elder Stories, Métis Market, Children’s Activities, Fiddler's, Singers, Square Dancers, Jiggers, Kayas Stage on Boomtown Street, Traditional Games, Interfaith Service, FREE Pancake Breakfast, Celebrity Neckbone Eating Contest, Art Auction and Charity Dinner (purchased ticket needed), Jigging Competition, and more!
Step inside and learn from our Métis Elders as they sit and tell stories of our history, both in Michif and English. Have the children engage in games and activities of the Métis. Enjoy a tasting of our traditional food, shop at our Métis Market, or enjoy our Kitchen Party Stage and Kayas Stage, on Boomtown Street, for performances that will bring you back to a time and place that is dear to all Métis.
September 8: 4 pm - 10 pm: Jigging competition and family dance, Métis Market
September 9: 10 am - 5 pm: Full day of events, Métis Market (open until 8pm)
September 9: NOON: Celebrity Neckbone Eating Contest
September 9: Art Auction 5 pm - 8 pm: Ticket purchase required
September 10: 8 am - 10 am: FREE Pancake Breakfast, Métis Market
September 10: 10 am - 2 pm: Interfaith Service, live entertainment, and open mic (bring your own instruments if needed) Métis Market
