Gerda Osteneck, "Sturmfrei"
Come visit and shop popular local artist Gerda Osteneck's OTB exhibition: "Sturmfrei: The freedom of being alone, the ability to do what you want. The literal translation from German is “storm free”. To be curious, to explore and to find ways of sharing what I discover fuels my desire to create. There is so much around us that is worth the small celebration of becoming the inspiration for art; nature, street art, random things out of place, a ray of sunshine on a rainy day–all note-worthy. Sharing what catches my eye with others is a joy. Many of these images are from the West Coast forests in Vancouver and Coquitlam. I love the prairies too–but sometimes, I need the woods."
Gerda Osteneck–Saskatchewan resident for over 40 years–has had a long, casual association
with the arts community, largely through the Art Gallery of Regina (formerly Rosemont Art Gallery) who have exhibited her work in several group shows. Her work has also been shown in other Saskatchewan communities.
