The Disley Book-Arts Guild
The Disley Book-Arts Guild is a mixed group of artists whose art form is the book. We gather monthly in the Disley Village Hall to acquire and share bookbinding knowledge and and new techniques. We discuss project details and vignettes of our lives while working towards the successful conclusion of the book in hand. Each book satisfies the the curiosity sparked by asking, “what if?”
The feel of a hand-crafted book is exhilarating! Each one marks a unique place in time and tells an individual story- whether or not it contains text.
We represent many levels of achievement from expert to novice. Each book challenges us to expand our ability to modify, to excel, and to share what we learn. The process of sharing knowledge strengthens us as individuals and as a community.
