Join us for a hands-on workshop to create your own didukh, the traditional Ukrainian wheat sheaf made for Christmas. Meaning “grandfather,” the didukh carries the spirit of the ancestors and invites their blessings into the home. As you work with wheat, barley, and flax, you’ll also discover the history and symbolism of this cherished tradition. In Ukrainian folklore, bringing a didukh into the house was believed to welcome prosperity and drive away hardship, hence the saying, “Didukh in the house, trouble out of the house.” No prior experience is needed. All materials provided.
