The Story Stroll at Scott Park is an active literacy program hosted by the Town of Porcupine Plain & Porcupine Plain Public Library to encourage families to get outside, enjoy nature and be active, and for children to practice reading skills; however, it is also enjoyed by adults and seniors in the community who enjoy strolling through the park and reading the stories posted. Pages from cultural stories will be shared throughout the duration of Culture Days, with stories being updated each Friday for the following week.
For the week of September 29th, a First Nations story will be selected in honour of the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, along with a list of other recommended reading and mental health supports. The other weeks of Culture Days will feature other cultural stories, including (where possible) multilingual books.
