Brought to you by Batoche Homeland Mรฉtis Local #51
Come gather with us on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 2 to 5 PM at Lazy 8 Acres. This is a chance to slow down, visit, and learn together in a good way. A free event, open to everyone!
At 3 PM, Ryan and Crystal Williams from Lazy 8 Acres will share the ๐๐ฃ๐ข๐๐ฐ๐ ๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ซ๐ข๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ presentation. Theyโll talk about the deep connection these horses have to Mรฉtis people, teachings of resilience, strength, and our relationship to the land. There will be time to meet the horses and spend a few quiet moments with these beautiful four legged relatives.
Weโll have complimentary Bannock burgers and refreshments ready, with live fiddle music by ๐๐ฎ๐ช๐ท ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ท๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป and company to set the tone throughout the afternoon. Most of all, itโs about kinship, time to sit with elders, laugh with family, friends and neighbors, and build community together.
This work is about more than horses. Itโs about confidence, responsibility, cultural pride, and healing through relationship with the land and animals.
Everyone is welcome , youth, families, elders, and allies.
Maarsii to Ryan and Crystal Williams at Lazy 8 Acres for hosting, and to Gabriel Dumont Institute, SaskCulture and Sask Lotteries Grant for supporting this gathering.
We hope to see you there! Please share this post, comment below if we will be seeing you!
