The Regina Japanese Cultural Club is excited to announce the return of Regina Matsuri 2026, a Japanese summer festival celebrating culture, tradition, and community. The festival will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Regina Performing Arts Centre.
Regina Matsuri invites everyone in Regina and surrounding communities to experience Japanese culture through authentic performances, activities, and cultural experiences. The festival is a family-friendly event where people of all ages can enjoy and learn about Japanese traditions.
This year’s festival will feature special guests from Fujioka City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan, Regina’s official friendship city. A delegation of 29 residents from Fujioka will visit Regina to celebrate the friendship between the two cities. The delegation will also share their culture through a booth and a special speech during the event.
Two performance groups from Fujioka will also join Regina Matsuri: Midoricho Matsuri Bayashi and Nankin Tamasudare Group. These groups help preserve and share traditional Japanese performing arts, bringing authentic Japanese traditions directly from Japan to Regina.
Regina Matsuri is more than just a festival. It is an opportunity to celebrate cultural diversity, strengthen the friendship between Regina and Fujioka, and bring the community together through shared experiences. Residents are invited to join us for a day of Japanese culture, performances, and community celebration!
