Create a traditional pavuk, a delicate geometric mobile woven from straw that has decorated Ukrainian homes for generations. Hung from the ceiling during Christmas and throughout the winter, pavuky symbolize harmony, prosperity, and the interconnectedness of life.
Guided by instructor Nataliia Garmasar, you’ll learn the traditional techniques used to construct a pavuk before creating your own to take home. Working with straw, thread, and simple hand tools, you’ll assemble a timeless decoration that celebrates both Ukrainian heritage and the season.
