In a world filled with images generated, copied, and distributed through technology, The Human Touch celebrates art created by people. This exhibition was made by people who turned an idea, experience, observation or emotion into a work of art. The choices made, skills developed, and risks taken by each artist can be seen in their artwork.
Technology can make large amounts of images quickly, but the products of human creativity– shaped by imagination, culture, curiosity, struggle, joy, and lived experience–are different. An artist tells a story with their decisions, the marks made by their hands, and the imperfections they leave behind.
The Human Touch brings together the work of Prairie Artists’ Guild members to celebrate the connection between creator and creation. It invites viewers to slow down, look closely, and consider the person behind the work. These artworks are more than images; they are the product of a human artist and their unique spirit.
