Publishing 101 – A How-To Workshop

Demystify the publishing process with SaskBooks, the provincial publishing association. In this workshop and seminar, we will cover the process a book takes from manuscript submission to final sale. Covering topics like how to find a publisher to best practices for self-publishing, participants will get one-on-one time with publishing professionals and with publishers themselves at an afternoon panel.
Jillian Bell, Director of Marketing and Finance at SaskBooks will make a presentation in the morning that covers the publishing industry, how manuscript acquisition works, and the things you need to think about when you self-publish.
The afternoon session features a panel of Saskatchewan publishers (Serimuse Books, JackPine Press, and McKenzie Carver & Associates) who will talk about their successes and their challenges.
There will be plenty of time for one on one consultation, so bring your questions and your curiosity!
Presented in partnership with SaskBooks, the Saskatchewan Writers' Guild, and the Saskatoon Public Library.
