SaskMusic is a non-profit, member-based creative industry association that supports the growth and development of Saskatchewan's commercial music industry through leadership, promotion, training, advocacy, and partnership.

Our programs and services include artist consultations, workshops, marketing support, artist listings, export assistance, networking opportunities, and more. We support both artists and music industry professionals from across Saskatchewan, representing a wide range of genres and disciplines. SaskMusic is a trusted source of information, resources, and support for both the music industry and the public. We are passionate about the arts and committed to helping Saskatchewan music thrive.

About the Position

The Awards and Outreach Assistant will play a key role in supporting artist and industry engagement related to the 2027 Saskatchewan Music Awards. This position will assist with outreach to members, respond to inquiries, process award submissions, and support event planning activities.

The successful candidate will also provide general administrative support to the SaskMusic team, including maintaining database records, conducting research, and assisting with day-to-day office operations.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about music and the arts, enjoys working with people, and is interested in gaining practical experience in the operations of a non-profit organization. The position offers valuable experience in communications, administration, member services, and event support.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a creative, organized, and detail-oriented self-starter with strong communication skills and a genuine interest in Saskatchewan's music and arts community.

You will bring:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong proficiency in written English
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Previous administrative or office experience
- Proficiency with computers and standard office software
- A typing speed of at least 30 words per minute
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while working independently
- An interest in learning about the music industry and non-profit sector

Schedule and Work Environment

This position requires some weekday availability to communicate with colleagues and support organizational activities. However, there is flexibility to incorporate evening and weekend work hours, as well as reasonable accommodations for post-secondary class schedules.

Student Eligibility

This position is funded in part through the Student Work Placement Program administered by Culture Works Canada. The program creates paid, quality work-integrated learning opportunities that help students develop the skills and experience needed for meaningful employment after graduation. There is no age limit.

Applicants must:

- Be enrolled in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution (university, college, CEGEP, or polytechnic)
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada according to applicable provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

What You'll Need

- Proof of enrolment in a post-secondary program (required if selected for an interview)
- Candidates selected for an interview will complete a skills and typing test within the interview
- A desire to gain hands-on experience working with members and clients
- The ability to follow detailed processes, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Access to a reliable computer capable of running Microsoft Office and other standard applications
- Access to a high-speed internet connection

What We Offer

Pay: $20.50 per hour
Schedule: 30 hours per week for 15 weeks starting (tentatively) October 20, 2026. There is a mandatory holiday break (paid) from Dec 28/26-Jan 3/27.

A workspace in our accessible Regina office is available to local candidates who would like to use it.
