BC HERN is coming to the Prairies! The British Columbia Heritage Emergency Response Network (BC HERN) is offering a Collections Salvage & Emergency Response Workshop in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Dates: Tuesday, October 27 & Wednesday, October 28, 2026
Location: University of Regina, College Avenue Campus, Regina, Saskatchewan
Cost: $125 CAD (includes lunches and refreshments). No fee for Indigenous organizations.

This hands-on, two-day workshop provides instruction and practical experience in collections salvage and emergency response techniques. Participants will learn methods for salvaging museum objects and archival materials affected by water, fire, and other emergencies. The training is designed to build confidence and preparedness for responding to heritage emergencies.
The workshop is intended for museum, archive, gallery, and cultural heritage professionals, as well as volunteers and caretakers of heritage collections with little or no previous emergency salvage training. Participants will gain practical skills, valuable resources, and connections with colleagues involved in emergency preparedness and response.
