Yorkton Orange Shirt Day and National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
Orange Shirt Day and National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
The day will begin with Registration & T-shirt distribution at Yorkton Tribal Council at 9:00am, followed by opening prayers, opening comments, and the walk from Yorkton Tribal Council to City Park at 10:00am.
Following the walk to City Park, welcoming comments will be shared at 11:00am, with lunch and guest speakers beginning at 12:00pm.
The day will then close with a Friendship Round Dance.
Everyone is encouraged to wear orange to raise awareness of the very tragic legacy of residential schools, and to honour the thousands of Survivors.
