Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration

Recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and contributions of Indigenous Peoples. The Kawacatoose Boys' Singers and Dance Troupe will kick off the celebrations with an honour song. Pick up a scavenger hunt and take a self-guided tour through the First Nations Gallery. There will be additional drop-in activity stations in and around the Museum including:

A beading and adornment station, make a friendship bracelet
Bison hunting activity including atlatl throwing
Touch table exploring bison artifacts
The Saskatchewan Archaeological Society will be on-site with the ArchaeoCaravan and a flint knapping demonstration showing how stone tools are made
SaskParks will help us connect with our beliefs and values as Treaty People
NOTE: If you are not a school group and looking for a quieter visiting experience, consider visiting after 2:30 p.m. to experience the day's festivities.

Visit our Indigenous Cultural Heritage Collection website. Have questions? Our Curator of Indigenous Cultural Heritage will be on-site. Drop-in during the afternoon to learn more about the museum collections, shared stewardship and more.

Are you bringing a school group or a group over ten people? Please email us for availability.
