2026 One Book, One Province: Towards a Prairie Atonement

Join us for the culminating event of our One Book, One Province Book Club, a community reading initiative held in support of the International Year of the Rangelands and Pastoralists. This year’s selected title, Towards a Prairie Atonement by local activist, author, and USask alumnus Trevor Herriot (BA’79, ARTS’81, DLet’21), offers a powerful and reflective examination of two centuries of Métis presence on the prairies, inviting readers to think deeply about land, responsibility, and our relationships with the prairie.

At this special final gathering attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the book with others and take part in a program featuring a facilitated conversation led by USask Indigenous Story Writer Ryan Moccasin with Trevor Herriot and Dr. Cheryl Troupe, followed by a chance to ask questions.

The book is available free as an ebook through the USask Library or through the Saskatoon Public Library, and everyone is welcome – students, faculty, staff, and members of the public. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Registration is required. There are 27 in-person seats available. There are 91 online seats available.
