Embroidered Keychain Workshop

Celebrate World Embroidery Day by exploring the rich tradition of Ukrainian embroidery in this hands-on workshop at the Ukrainian Museum of Canada.

Perfect for beginners and anyone curious about Ukrainian culture, this workshop introduces participants to the basics of Ukrainian cross-stitch while exploring the history and symbolism behind traditional embroidery motifs. Guided step by step, you’ll learn essential stitching techniques and discover how embroidered patterns have been used for generations to express identity, protection, and cultural heritage.

Using your new skills, you’ll create your own embroidered keychain to take home—a unique handmade keepsake inspired by Ukrainian tradition.

All materials are provided, and no previous embroidery experience is required. Recommended for ages 9 and up.
