World Day for African and Afrodescendant Culture

Adopted by UNESCO in 2019, the World Day for African and Afrodescendant Culture marks the date of adoption for the Charter of African Cultural Reniassance in 2006 by the Heads of States and Governments of the African Union. The day serves as a chance to celebrate the many vibrant cultures of the African continent and promotes cultural exchange as a means of promoting sustainable development, dialogue and peace.
