About the Regina Multicultural Council
Founded in 1969, the Regina Multicultural Council (RMC) is a non-profit organization representing over 40 member organizations that celebrate, promote, and preserve the city’s vibrant cultural diversity. RMC’s signature event, Mosaic – A Festival of Cultures, brings together communities across Regina to celebrate the richness of multiculturalism through food, music, dance, and heritage.
RMC also provides year-round programs and initiatives that foster cultural awareness, inclusion, and collaboration among the city’s diverse communities.
Position Overview
The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive officer of the Regina Multicultural Council and is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operations of the organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors and working closely with the Board President, the ED provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the continued growth, financial stability, and sustainability of RMC and its programs.
Key Responsibilities
• Promote multiculturalism and advocate for diversity and inclusion across the Regina community.
• Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction in alignment with RMC’s mission and values.
• Serve as the primary public face of the organization. to build and maintain relationships with the community.in addition to stakeholders and donors.
E.D. advocates on behalf of the organization to promote its mission.
• Manage and coordinate Mosaic – A Festival of Cultures, including sponsorship development, partner engagement, and event logistics.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with member organizations, sponsors, community partners, and local granting agencies.
• Ensure sound financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements.
• Support and collaborate with the Board of Directors on governance, strategic planning, and policy development.
• Oversee human resource functions, including staff supervision and volunteer engagement.
• Identify and pursue new opportunities for funding, partnerships, and community impact.
Qualifications and Experience
• Proven leadership experience in a volunteer-led, non-profit organization, preferably in a director-level or executive role reporting to a board.
• Demonstrated commitment to multiculturalism and knowledge of Regina’s diverse cultural landscape.
• Experience working with volunteers and understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in volunteer-driven organizations.
• Strong skills in strategic planning, collaborative management, and organizational development.
• Sound knowledge of risk management, financial records and reporting budget administration.
• Effective human resource management and team leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and public relations skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate strategic plans to our volunteer membership organizations with proficiency in social media and digital communication tools and CRM management software.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated success in partnership development and revenue generation.
• Competency in Office 365
Compensation and Benefits
• Salary range: $62,000 – $85,000 per year (based on experience)
