Audience Development and Engagement Coordinator (20 hours/week)
La Troupe du Jour is a francophone theatre company based in Saskatoon, dedicated to the creation, production, and presentation of French-language theatre. As part of its audience growth, engagement, and community outreach efforts, La Troupe du Jour is seeking an Audience Development and Engagement Coordinator to support the organization’s strategies to attract, diversify, and retain audiences.


Job Responsibilities
Audience Strategy and Planning
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization’s overall audience development strategy
- Identify and prioritize target audiences (families, schools, young adults, Francophone communities, newcomers, etc.)
- Propose concrete actions to attract, retain, and diversify audiences
- Support the achievement of attendance and participation objectives across activities and productions

Marketing, Communications, and Outreach
- Collaborate in the planning and execution of promotional campaigns (performances, special events, community activities)
- Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator on audience-facing content (newsletters, social media, website, promotional tools)
- Adapt messaging to different audience segments
- Support visibility and outreach initiatives within the community (partnerships, external events, on-the-ground presence)

Cultural Mediation and Audience Relations
- Develop and coordinate cultural mediation activities (artist talks, workshops, post-show discussions, etc.)
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with educational, community, and cultural partners
- Implement initiatives that promote accessibility and inclusion
- Serve as a point of contact for audiences, gathering feedback and facilitating engagement

Analysis, Monitoring, and Evaluation
- Collect and analyze data related to audience attendance and engagement
- Conduct or coordinate audience surveys and consultations
- Produce summaries and recommendations to improve audience strategies
- Contribute to reports for management, the Board of Directors, and funding bodies

Project Coordination
- Coordinate specific projects related to audience development
- Manage timelines, resources, and budgets associated with assigned initiatives
- Collaborate with internal teams (artistic, administrative, technical, philanthropy)
- Liaise with external partners and consultants as needed

Innovation and Sector Watch
- Stay informed on trends in audience development and cultural mediation
- Propose innovative approaches or pilot projects to reach new audiences
- Participate in relevant training sessions, sector meetings, and professional networks

Working Conditions
Salary: To be negotiated
Work location: Saskatoon and remote work (hybrid)

Profile and Skills
- Strong interest in the arts, culture, and community engagement
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
- Experience in audience development, cultural mediation, marketing, or community outreach is an asset
- Fluency in French is required; English proficiency is an asset
