Philanthropy Development Coordinator (20 hours/week)

La Troupe du Jour is a francophone theatre company based in Saskatoon, dedicated to the creation, production, and presentation of French-language theatre. As part of its philanthropic development and community engagement efforts, La Troupe du Jour is seeking a Philanthropy Development Coordinator to support the organization’s strategies to grow, engage, and sustain its donor base and private partnerships.
Job Responsibilities
Philanthropic Development and Donations
- Contribute to the development and implementation of an annual philanthropy plan (individual donations, major gifts, and monthly giving).
- Identify, qualify, and follow up with donors (individuals, foundations, corporations).
- Maintain and manage the donor database (contact information, giving history, acknowledgements).
- Coordinate targeted fundraising campaigns (e.g., 40th anniversary, season launch, specific projects).
- Assist in the writing of donation requests and philanthropic case statements.
Donor Relations and Recognition
- Ensure personalized communications with donors (thank-you messages, receipts, follow-ups).
- Coordinate donor recognition strategies (visibility, acknowledgements, tickets, benefits).
- Organize or support donor engagement and retention activities (meetings, open rehearsals, special events).
- Maintain regular relationships with major donors and philanthropic partners.
Sponsorships and Private Partnerships
- Prospect corporate sponsors aligned with the organization’s artistic and community mission.
- Prepare sponsorship proposals (levels, benefits, visibility).
- Ensure proper follow-up of agreements (deliverables, visibility, reporting).
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications coordinator to ensure brand and message consistency.
Communications and Campaigns
- Work with the marketing to integrate philanthropy into newsletters, the website, and social media.
- Write or coordinate donation appeals, campaign pages, and promotional content.
- Contribute to the planning of integrated campaigns (ticket sales and donations).
- Track and analyze campaign results (objectives, performance indicators).
Financial Tracking and Reporting
- Collaborate with the administration to ensure accurate tracking of donations received.
- Compile data required for reports and accountability purposes.
- Monitor philanthropic financial targets and prepare periodic summaries.
- Ensure compliance with charitable donation receipting requirements, in accordance with charitable status regulations.
Internal Coordination and Governance
- Work closely with the co–Executive Directors.
- Support the co–Executive Directors and committees in philanthropic initiatives.
- Prepare support tools for the Board of Directors (prospect lists, solicitation tools, meeting documents).
Organization and Logistics
- Plan the annual philanthropy calendar.
- Coordinate campaign timelines and follow-ups.
- Document procedures and tools (templates, databases, tracking systems).
Working Conditions
Salary: To be negotiated
Work location: Saskatoon and remote work (hybrid)
Profile and Skills
- Strong interest in the arts, culture, and community philanthropy
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team environment
- Experience in philanthropic development, fundraising, donor relations, sponsorships, or the non-profit cultural sector is considered an asset
- Fluency in French is required (spoken and written); proficiency in English is an asset
