Grounds Assistant (TERM)

Western Development Museum - North Battleford is now accepting applications for the following position: Grounds Assistant (term)

General Description:
Reporting to the Facility & Maintenance Supervisor, the Grounds Assistant’s main responsibility will be to support the maintenance of the grounds and equipment. The Grounds Assistant will ensure that the grounds are esthetically pleasing and safe for visitors. They will also assist with the set-up of special events and functions. Weekend work is required.

Duties:
• Grounds maintenance including:
o Trim caragana hedge, trees and shrubs
o Cut grass that tractor cannot reach with a push mower
o Weed and water flowers and trees
o Plant, weed, water and maintain garden
• Special Events and Programming
• Assist with the set-up and dismantling of special events and programs held in the Museum
• Assist with artifact and exhibit security
• Assist with garbage cleanup and maintaining cleanliness of the grounds

Qualifications:
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Willing to work weekends
• Have superb organizational skills
• Knowledge and experience in grounds maintenance is an asset

Conditions:
• Wage $17.06/hour
• Employee Benefits as per WDM Human Resources Policies Term: 8 weeks from July 6 - August 28, 2026
• Hours: 40 hours per week, will include weekends
• At start of employment must be between the ages of 15-30
• Hours of work are 8:45 am to 5:15 pm.
• Shifts include weekdays, weekend, and occasional evening work.
