Gustin/Trounce Heritage Committee Inc.

The musical and cultural activity of the Gustin/Trounce Heritage Committee Inc. is inspired by the influential piano teacher Dr. Lyell Gustin (1895-1988). A non-profit, charitable organization, the Committee presents an annual classical recital series of solo and ensemble performers, and regularly brings together artists, writers and musicians with the public at interdisciplinary events. Other goals include research into Lyell Gustin's pedagogical tradition and the musical formation of young people through scholarships and training in cultural volunteerism. Gustin House, Saskatoon is a designated Provincial Heritage Property and is the artistic centre of the organization; the city's oldest building, Trounce House (1883), is on the same lot, and the Committee's mandate includes preservation of both these historic buildings.
