Poltava Ensemble of Song, Music & Dance
The Poltava Ensemble of Song, Music & Dance, of the Association of the United Ukrainian Canadians of Regina, is located at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre and composed of some 50 dancers, musicians and vocal soloists. The Ensemble continues a cultural heritage established with the first children's string orchestra in Regina in 1922. The Poltava Ensemble has travelled extensively across Canada, in the United States and Ukraine. Its repertoire, although based within the Ukrainian culture, embraces that from other Slavic cultures that have interacted with Ukraine. Thus, its performances embrace not only the ideals of multiculturalism, but that of the human spirit. Membership is open to all.
