Creative Kids Review

The Creative Kids program has operated since 2010, providing over $6 million dollars to support over 1,000 children/youth a year, who face financial barriers access cultural activity of their choice. While the Creative Kids programs continues to fundraise, it is supported extensively by Sask Lotteries support for both operations and grants, for both individuals and programs. The Creative Kids program also maintains a series of community committees to help increase program reach.

At this time, the program requires a review of its purpose and operations:

  • To review its alignment with SaskCulture’s overall goals in supporting children and youth access cultural activities.
  • To determine the effectiveness of the current Creative Kids program operations in meeting these goals:
    • Reach and impact of program;
    • Cost-effectiveness; and
    • Long-term legacy for children and youth supported.

Work is currently underway to identify overall research objectives designed to identify long-term plans for the program.
