When working with clients, Gwen is: Bold and courageous, not afraid to challenge the status quo (provocateur/co-conspirator) to foster new ways of thinking, acting, and behaving; Authentic, creating trusting relationships through honest communication, respect, and empathy for all people, as well as holding herself accountable for her actions; Curious, demonstrated through an experiential approach that is fuelled by inquisitiveness, reflective learning, and the desire for continuous improvement; Collaborative, committed to engaging in co-production and design with clients as mutual partners to achieve desired outcomes. In her consulting practice, Gwen ensures that engagement processes respect human rights principles of equity and fairness.

Gwen has extensive knowledge of and experience leading governance and administrative processes, including, but not limited to the following: strategic planning, not-for-profit governance models and practices, bylaw and policy development/renewal, human resource leadership and communications. In her previous role as the Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, she provided exemplary strategic leadership for the organization, including a comprehensive internal governance review resulting in sound governance and administrative structures, policies, and practices for the organization. Through her current consulting services practice, Gwen applies her 37 years of experience as an educator with the knowledge and skills gained through successful senior executive leadership roles to interactive and engaging processes for management and boards, to improve organizational performance, board governance and management/administrative success. Gwen’s volunteer experience with the non-profit sector includes membership (chair/vice-chair) on two not-for-profit boards, Hope Restored Canada and the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation.

We are Treaty people

SaskCulture's work and support reaches lands covered by Treaties 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10, the traditional lands of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Lakota, Nakota and Saulteaux peoples, as well as homeland of the Métis.

We aim to be accessible and safe for everyone

Our office, including front door and washrooms, is wheelchair-accessible (building access at Cornwall Street entrance) during regular office hours. A proud supporter of safer and inclusive spaces initiatives, we are committed to a workplace free from hate, discrimination or harassment, where everyone is welcome.
