Plein Air Paint Out - Waskesiu
Plein Air Saskatchewan is pleased to announce its first ever Plein Air Paint Out!
We are a group who want to promote the practice of plein air painting and celebrate our diverse Saskatchewan landscape through art.
Simply defined plein air painting means painting outdoors. With the help of Hues Art Supply and The Men Who Paint, a dream of a plein air paint out in Saskatchewan has become a reality.
There are so many great places to explore in Saskatchewan with its expansive skies and varied landscapes. Plein Air Saskatchewan aims to coordinate events throughout the province that will showcase the diverse environments we have and to inspire painters to these locations. We wish to celebrate the artistic endeavour of outdoor painting. We scope out the location, coordinate with lodging facilities for accommodation, provide maps to painting spots, organize social evenings and a final show and sale for the local public.
This event will be the first of its kind in Saskatchewan and we hope to make it an annual event.
While our administrative location is in Saskatoon, our goal is to provide plein air painting events throughout the entire province. This year’s Plein Air Paint Out will be held in the Prince Albert National Park at Waskesiu from September 9-11, 2022.
