Something Among Us, Movement Workshop with I-Ying Wu
Join the Art Gallery of Regina for a free movement workshop in the main gallery exhibition led by I-Ying Wu. This workshop employs subtle awareness to explore the tacit interrelationship among “us”, including living/nonliving things, and see how a collective creation emerges through this creative process. We will start with being aware of space inside and outside our bodies. Then we will expand into the space between “us” to uncover a felt sense that everything is subtly connected in an implicit relationship. We will experience how subtle awareness initiates intuitive reactions to the surroundings, and allows organic emergences that may change the dynamics, atmosphere, and form of the space. During the workshop, non-living things in the room may be reconfigured in order to transform the space. This process of reconfiguration will leave behind a new arrangement – a form of visual installation – that reflects our collaborate work after our living bodies depart from the space at the end of the workshop.
