Grandfather Teachings omosōmimāw okiskinwahamākēwina
Grandfather Teachings omosōmimāw okiskinwahamākēwina kick-off and BBQ.
Our community association is creating a concrete learning circle along with an information board that explains the 7 Grandfather teachings omosōmimāw okiskinwahamākēwina in Cree.
In celebration, we would like to pay tribute to is the signing of Treaty 4 which happened on September 15, 1874. This event is historic as it was an agreement between the First Nations and the federal Government to preserve rights and lands and was signed 150 years ago. The signing of the treaty is instrumental in the area as it recognizes the contribution First Nations peoples made by sharing their lands.
This event is free and open to all.
