This is a day to celebrate the important work that music educators perform in the province as well as the tremendous benefits that music brings to students and the rest of the society. The work that music educators conduct ensures that people of all ages and abilities can participate in music programs.
In celebration of Saskatchewan Music Education Day the Saskatchewan Music Educators Association (SMEA) is proud to launch a special initiative designed to promote accessibility and equity in music education across our province. The SMEA is releasing three curated classroom resource kits for music teachers, each offering practical materials to support a wide range of learning needs and teaching environments.
The event will showcase young musicians, and the new music resources for teachers. Saskatchewan Government MLA Brad Crassweller will join SMEA President Sharon Bates in proclaiming September 15 as Saskatchewan Music Education Day.
So drop by the Wascana Centre Bandshell on September 15 at noon to join the musical festivities
