A pair of Nova Scotia's finest fiddlers will be in Saskatoon at the Bassment on Wednesday Nov 5 for what is expected to be a packed house of music enthusiasts. Seldom do we get the opportunity to experience authentic Cape Breton fiddle and piano on the prairies --- and Saskatoon will be host to two masters who are heading out West for a tour after multiple appearances at the annual Celtic Colours festival. The Bassment's grand piano will be sure to get a good workout with these two in the house!!
Andrea Beaton comes from a long line of Beaton and MacMaster musicians. Like her father and grandfather, Andrea is a composer with a passion for Cape Breton fiddle, piano, step dancing and comical stories. Only 13 when he first taught workshops at the Gaelic College on Cape Breton Island, Troy has performed and taught across the globe, and is a master on both the fiddle & piano. His roots-centered approach has the power to inspire audiences and he comes from a family of proud Scottish heritage where fiddle playing and Gaelic traditions run in the bloodline. These two award-winning solo artists offer a taste of Nova Scotia's best traditional music!
